Calling All Ministers!
Good Shepherd’s Pastoral Care Ministry to one another is about to expand and we are inviting folks to be part of our Network of Care. We are looking for additional recruits to our Pastoral Care Network Team. Our PC -Network includes a number of roles but all of them together are how we hope to be a more connected and caring community. The Network includes: Administrators, staff and clergy, Food Militia Volunteers, Visitors and Eucharistic Visitors, Prayer Team Warriors and Eucharistic Ministers. All of these people along with everyone’s “eyes, ears, and heart” will help us take care of one another.
How would you like to be involved?
FOOD MILITIA ~are folks willing to prepare and deliver occasional meals to parishioner’s home from the hospital and convalescing. They will donate a plate of something for a funeral reception or other special event!
VISITORS ~ Lay persons who simply and naturally share the love of God with the sick and shut in. They may accompany a Eucharistic Visitor to offer Holy Communion or they may just stop in for a visit or make a phone call. No particular training is required.
EUCHARISTC MINISTERS - vest and serve with the clergy at the Altar. They are licensed to assist during administration of Holy Communion during scheduled worship services.
PRAYER STATION MINISTERS ~ have been trained in offering prayer to those returning from Holy Communion during regular worship services.
EUCHARISTIC VISITORS ~ are licensed and trained to administer home communions and to pray personally with those they visit.
All of these efforts will be coordinated through a small Administrative Team. Please consider how you want to be involved and call Father Jack 433-5244
