Mission & Outreach
Tend My Lambs – A parish-wide outreach to a village school and church in the mountains of Haiti. To be on the committee, assist or volunteer as a mission trip team member contact Glenda Williams at 436-9961. Shepherd’s Staff Committee – This committee is a clearing house for new ministry opportunities presented to Good Shepherd. They assist in implementation, and award budgeted monies to local ministry projects. Contact Courtney Dampf at 480-1614
Book Fair – Books are collected and sorted all year long for an annual spring sale in the gym. Proceeds go to local programs determined each year. Lots of help needed all year long and during the event. Contact Amy Allen (433-2645),or Polly Cole (480-0138).
Faith & Friends Food Pantry – Good Shepherd parishioners donate monthly food items and volunteer at the pantry. Contact Ed Khoury - 433-5244
Salvation Army Bell Ringers & Christmas Tree – Volunteer to ring the bell during the holiday and help put presents under the tree for needy children.
Sandwich ministry – Good Shepherd offers sandwiches to transients who come to us seeking all kinds of help. Contact Nancy Draughn at 433-7776 to be a part of a rotating schedule.
Summer Music Festival – Since 1986 Good Shepherd has hosted musical performances each Tuesday in June followed by a light reception. The series gives us a chance to connect with the community and invite them to worship with us. Please volunteer to assist in this fun ministry that we are so proud of.
Calcasieu Community Clinic – Members of Good Shepherd prepare a meal for 40 volunteers who donate their professional services to those with health needs.
