Prayer & Small Groups
Daughters of the King- This is an Order of women who meet monthly and whose rule of life includes prayer, evangelism, and service. Contact: Anita Luff - 433-5244
Healing Prayer Teams - This is a “hoped for” ministry of prayer teams who are trained and comfortable in praying with folks during Holy Communion or directly after the service for various needs. Contact Fr. Myers, 433-5244
Labyrinth – An outreach ministry of quiet prayer and active meditation. Come and experience this powerful form of being with God usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the gym. Contact Martha Whelan 494-0825.
Contemplative Prayer- Every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Quiet prayer, 10 minute silent meditation, intercessory prayers and thanksgivings.
Parish Intercessory Group – Folks led to daily intercessory prayer for parishioners and others in need from a weekly list.
Small Group Studies - are numerous at Good Shepherd at various times, locations and subject matter. Speak with Father Jack Myers for current offerings. Classes on leading a small group study are offered periodically and upon request.
Imperial Calcasieu Order of St. Luke- This is a Chapter of the International Order of St. Luke the Physician. The local order meets the first Monday of every month (exception: holiday) at St. Michael & All Angels Church at 6 p.m. It is an ecumenical Christian organization devoted to bringing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to all who need physical, spiritual or emotional healing. The local chapter holds a Healing Conference in the Spring of each year. After the conference, those who feel called to a ministry of healing participate in the study of Jesus' miracles to further discern their call. Classes are held at Good Shepherd from April to August, every Monday except the first Monday (Order of St. Luke meeting) from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Call Margie Collins. 433-5244
